Leading Literacy

Here are a few modules detailing each organization I worked with and my goals and experiences with them!

St. Louis County Library Conversation Circles

During 1 hour sessions, I helped kids and their families develop English conversational skills in the children's garden/area. This was my first step in my project, and though I only ended up holding 2 sessions, it helped me to be flexible with my intentions.

The International Institute of St. Louis

Because of the age requirement to tutor, I created a flyer for the institute to use, asking for donations, volunteers, and support within the St. Louis community. I also contacted some coordinators at AmeriCorps and asked what their needs were!

ENGin

To pursue my global stance on expanding literacy, I led weekly conversations online weekly sessions with Ukrainian youth, helping them prepare for tests, discuss more challenging topics, and foster a friendship overseas. To this day, I'm still working with the ENGin program!
